New trends in veils, bridal headwear
Today’s bride can choose many stylish options, from veils and hats to flowers and tiaras
While the traditional veil still holds importance for many brides, it is no longer the be-all and end-all accessory. Bridal hats, birdcage styles with netting, non-traditional colors and other styles are all alternatives to the traditional bridal veil in 2019. For brides who love the romantic and pure symbolism of a traditional veil, today’s veils have a new look all their own. Watch for floral embroidery on tulle to match the shade of a bride’s dress (if it’s not true white), to tie the whole look together. There are other 3D embellishments on extra-long tulle veils, scattered artfully throughout the veil, or edging the veil. Not into veils? A full-length bridal cape or shorter capelet is the perfect alternative. It adds movement to your gown, but feels fashion forward. This trend also makes an easy transition to a mid-wedding outfit change. Wear a cape or capelet for a more formal look during your ceremony, and then whisk it away to hit the dance floor at your reception. Glittering tiaras are adding a regal style, fit for a princess who wants to make a simple, but bold statement. Flowers are another option in 2019, either weaving fresh flowers into your waves and curls or going all-out with a flower crown.
